Natural Remedies For Weight Loss

Everyday we hear about new weight loss programs that hit the market - the hottest, the greatest - LIKE NO OTHER BEFORE! Sound familiar?

When it comes to supplements for these "life changing" products you really have to be careful - I am neither for nor against such gimmics. According to testimonials by well known actors and actress's they swear these are the best products ever - the funny part is these famous people make money from these advertisements so what is the real deal. We wouldn't think that a well known actress or actor would ever put their reputation on the line for a borderline product - Would they?

Now this is not meant to be a negative but we need to be realistic - before you put anything in your body, make darn sure you know the ingredients. Contact the company making these claims, find out the manufacturing process these supplements go through. What security is in place to ensure no contamination? How do we really know the ingredients of these supplements? Can they back up their claims aside from using famous people to help them?

Recently my wife showed me an article in a well known magazine and it showed this everyday mom of three who couldn't lose weight and she was introduced to a supplement to help her lose weight. This supplement was going to be the cure and I quote from the closing of the article: "the results are visible, measurable and noticeable! All this can be achieved: WITHOUT Willpower -- WITHOUT any strict diet -- WITHOUT strenuous exercise. Wow every man and womans dream!

Now we wanted to believe this to be true, so we sent an email to the company for some answers. We read over the article very carefully, and could not find anything backing up their claims - the company name that was posted on the advertisement could not be googled.

Here is a copy of our email edited, as we don't want to cause waves or upset anyone - this is just an example of what we need as consumers to be aware of - set your emotions aside and gather the real facts before ingesting any products that could potentially harm your health:

Recently my wife read an article about your product in _________ Magazine and while it is a great story I certainly have concerns about the product she would be putting into her body.

Upon researching your product I found an article that seems to put down your product -- here is the link...
http://consumerhealthdigest.com/

Would you be willing to comment on this article and can you give me some information to your main website for ______________- my wife is extremely interested in your product and that is why I am giving your company the option of discussing this further.

What guarantees are there that the ingredients are what you say they are? What is the manufacturing process of such pills? Where do the herbs come from? Are the oils extracted under strict conditions to avoid contamination? How long has this product been on the market?

I am trying not to buy into the negative spin the article above gives your product - advertisement in a magazine is meant to sell and I understand that process of the sales cycle. I need to feel comfortable that I have all the information necessary to make an informed decision.

Thank You for your time in advance and I look forward to your reply.

my email address was here

So now we wait and see what their reply is - I plan to share there reply on this blog but again editing details. Please don't misunderstand this post to be down playing these types of products but just last year one of my coworkers lost a relative and the link to her initial ill health was traced back to these types of natural diet supplements - we need to be aware of the risks and ask the right questions.
